WOW! It was so great to see some of you all last week. I was so inspired by all the stories I heard of the ways in which you all are showing up for students and families. I heard about home visits, lifestyle blogging for students, mountains of grading, one on ones with students, phone calls home, late nights, google hangouts, relationship building, excellent strategies to increase attendance, and so many other ALL IN actions. All of this, while managing personal obstacles. I can't begin to tell you how incredibly proud I am of you all. This is the work of change.

I have been working my way through MLK's speeches that are compiled on apple music. A consistent theme I've heard through all of his speeches is the assurance of struggle in this movement. Change will not come without struggle. But, also at the end of his speeches are consistent reminders of the assurance of hope and freedom that will come at the end of our struggles. No matter what you are struggling through today; a lesson plan, a unit, student relationships, broken systems, whatever it is, rest assured that your struggle is going to bring freedom.
