Our city experienced yet another tragedy over the weekend. If you or your students experienced any damage or trauma from the floods in South Nashville, my heart is with you all. Please shoot me a text and let me know if or your students were affected. Shout out to Nicole Root who opened up dialogue with her students and shared support. The greatest thing about Nashville is that we are in this together, always!

A few actions items this week. Don't forget to attend one of the skills lab group coaching sessions to cover our one on one debrief time.

Love,

MC

Teaching Resources:

SHOUT OUT

This week's shout out goes to Shivpriya Sridhar! Ms. Sridhar teaches ELA at Valor Flagship! Last week I watched her so gracefully teach both her in person and online students. One strategy she used to build connection between the in person and zoom students was the "morning wave." This is where she allots a few minutes for students in person to interact with students online. They wave at each other, say good morning, and get silly! Students absolutely loved it and it made the students still on zoom feel very much part of a community! Kudos Priya!
