September 2020 Alumni Blast


This year, our alumni survey was sent to a representative sample of our network in the Nashville-Chattanooga region. We have collected specific and actionable information utilizing a limited, representative sample and shorter survey. We are hosting a panel to discuss and examine the impact of the aftermath of the pandemic and tornadoes in Chattanooga. Join us to listen, reflect, and discuss solutions-oriented and actionable steps that can be used to support our community. September, 23rd 5 pm ET. This is an event for TFA alumni and corps members living in Chattanooga.


Learn to cook with Gerron Hurt, current Nashville teacher, 2018 winner of MasterChef, and 2020 TFA Nashville Aspiring School Leader Fellow. September 30th, 5:30 pm CT/ 6:30 pm ET.


This event will mark the beginning of your Mentorship Progam. We are hosting a low programming event as the perfect excuse to introduce you to your mentor/mentee. October 1st, 5:30 pm CT. This is an event for TFA alumni and corps members living in Nashville, that enrolled in the TFA Mentorship Program.


Join TFA Nashville-Chattanooga Executive Director, Ben Schumacher for a space to create dialogue and community. October 28th, 6 pm CT/ 7pm ET.


For Latinx Heritage Month, check out the series of events our TFA community has organized to celebrate corps members, alumni, and staff that identify as latinx. Read how our community partners' personal journeys have sparked their passion for supporting the next generation of leaders.

Learn to integrate sustainable living into the classroom using a standard-aligned curriculum, project-based learning, and student home investigations. Attendees will explore lessons and applications of sustainability education that will inspire students to ensure a better quality of life for all, now and into the future.
