Happy rainy Monday, Chattanooga Pioneers!
I know that you are going into this week with a bit of uncertainty as the district and state make decisions about what learning will look like in Hamilton County next week . Please reach out to Molly, Janiel, or Courtney if you need any support or need to talk about possibly transitions to in person or hybrid learning in the coming weeks.
In the coming weeks and months Teach for America donors and other staff members will be popping into your classrooms. Please make sure that you are in a professional setting with a neutral background or download a professional Zoom background if you don’t have a space in your home with neutral background. It’s unprofessional to hold classes in your bed or couch, or with a lot of things going on in the background. In addition to making sure your learning environment is professional, please make sure that you are showing up to Zoom classes professionally dressed. Dress as you would if you were going to teach in person. Donors want to see that their money is going to a professional organization, and we want them to view us as the professionals that we are, even in this virtual world.
I want to end by giving a huge shout out to some of our CMs! First shout out goes to Callie Phillips. She was selected to teach first grade lessons on the district’s PBS channel. I know that this means some sacrifices for both her and her students, but what an honor to be asked! Way to go Callie! I also want to shout out Joanna Hernandez for being named Teacher of the Week at Orchard Knob Middle School! Joanna has incredible engagement and strong relationships with her students. This is clear when entering her class! Way to go Joanna! We are so proud of you both!
As always, we are super proud of the work you are doing for our students. Please reach out to any of us if you need any help or support during these uncertain times!
