Weekly Cohort Message 9/9/2020

Good Morning, Royal Cohort!!

I hope each of you had a joyful and rejuvenating Labor Day Weekend. I enjoyed spending time with my family and decorating my new house. I love seeing the excitement in the twins faces with each new thing they get to see me unbox or hang up.

Here is a quote to remember this week, “We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself.” - Lloyd Alexander

URGENT: PLEASE GO BACK TO THE SCHEDULE LINK AND PROVIDE YOUR ZOOM, MICROSOFT TEAMS, OR ANY OTHER LINKS YOU USE FOR YOUR CLASS. (You can put it at the bottom in the notes section) submit

Please read through the important information below and complete any action items.

Classroom Pop Ins (Mandatory)

All Corps Saturday (Mandatory)

You will be required to attend an All Corps Saturday summit on this Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm.

From the CM handbook:

CM PD Attendance Expectations

As part of your teacher-leader development, AmeriCorps requirements, and licensure process, you are required to attend professional development sessions through Teach For America. These sessions include 1:1 coaching meetings, small group sessions, cohort meetings, and all-corps events. These experiences collectively make up the total hour requirement for your certification. All professional development experiences are mandatory unless explicitly stated as “optional” or otherwise.

Corps Members CANNOT be considered to be “in good standing'' without completing all required professional development, and failure to do so has implications for certification, AmeriCorps award, and status in the corps.

1:1 Check Ins (Mandatory)

If you have not done so, please send me an email stating what has hindered you from having a 1:1 check in with me. Suggest a time for a 15 minute phone conversation for any afternoon after 5 pm. IF you missed your meeting, you are responsible for setting a new meeting.

Submit Class Schedules (Mandatory)

Please submit your class schedule (teaching and planning) times. Find the tab with your last name and add your schedule there. Also, please include the link to your virtual classroom. Please input your schedule here:
