Our Communities
Over 950 alumni and over 160 corps members call our region home. Corps members are only placed in Metropolitan Nashville Davidson County or Hamilton County Department of Education, but our alumni community includes surrounding counties and suburbs of the metropolitan areas.  

In the Middle Tennessee area, this includes alumni living in the suburbs and surrounding counties as far as Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Columbia, and Dickson, TN.

 

The Chattanooga alumni community includes surrounding areas of Lookout Mountain and Cleveland, TN, as well as North Georgia areas of Ringgold and Dalton.

Over 75% of alumni living in Nashville-Chattanooga work in education and over 200 work as K – 12 teachers. When you teach in Nashville-Chattanooga, you’re joining a community of educators.

The process to transfer an out-of-state teaching license will depend on what type of license you currently hold. You can learn more here.

Pathways for Leadership

Alumni lead nearly 30 schools in Nashville-Chattanooga and nearly 100 alumni service as mid-level school leaders. Alumni lead in a variety of school formats, including private, district-run, and charter schools. When you relocate to Nashville-Chattanooga, you become part of a network over 1,100 strong, with 990 alumni and over 160 corps members. TFA staff have developed the structures to help you get connected to the incredible individuals and groups that comprise our alumni community.
