As Director of Teacher Leadership Development, Amanda designs the leadership and coaching development of our Managers of Teacher Leadership Development and supports our corps members throughout their 2-year experience.
Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Washington University, Amanda began her teaching career in pre-kindergarten. Through her experience working with some of our nation’s earliest learners, Amanda realized her desire to grow her practice in equitable classroom leadership and applied to join Teach For America in 2013. She then spent the
After a year of teaching, Amanda was accepted into Teach For America as a corps member. Amanda taught in Tennessee public schools, including Metro Nashville Public Schools, for an additional three years as a kindergarten and English Language Learner teacher, serving as the grade chair on the response to intervention team. In 2015, Amanda received her Master of Education in English Language Learning from Lipscomb University. Amanda has been a coach on the team since 2015.
