Casey DeFord is currently the Director of Alumni Talent and Leadership. Casey develops leadership pipelines for aspiring school leaders and helps Teach For America alumni connect to future careers and opportunities in Nashville and Chattanooga.
Casey grew up in Singapore and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and completed her graduate studies at Harvard University. Casey began her career in education teaching 8th grade English Language arts before serving as Assistant Principal and District School Improvement Specialist. In this role Casey became passionate about creating inclusive and equity-focused adult learning and leadership development and believes that collaboration and trust are fundamental to all team structures.
