As Director of School Partnerships and Corps Experience, Cherish develops and cultivates school partnerships to help CMs and schools make strong matches; she also helps corps members navigate certification.
She is a Nashville, TN native who graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work from Belmont University and her master’s in teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. Cherish began her career in education teaching 5th and 7th grade English Language Arts at KIPP Nashville before serving as Assistant Principal of Humanities. In this role, she supported and coached reading and writing teachers in their practice before joining the Teach For America team in 2021.
In the future, she hopes to start her own before and after care for school-aged children and continue to partner with teachers and schools.
