Courtney Myers

As a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development, Courtney coaches, develops the instructional leadership, and provides support to our teachers in Chattanooga. This includes coaching corps members toward expanding perspectives, facilitating small group sessions, and designing learning experiences to advance the academic and person growth of their students. Courtney partners with schools, communities, students, and families as well as the broader regional team to build a culture that celebrates unique contributions and unites people around shared values and common purpose.

Courtney is a 2011 graduate of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a 2012 corps member in the Louisiana Delta region. Courtney continued her teaching career in New Orleans and Jackson, MS before returning to Chattanooga in 2016 to teach kindergarten and 1st grade in Hamilton County schools. She joined the Teach For America team in 2018 to support the founding teaching corps in Chattanooga.

Courtney earned her Master of Education as a literacy specialist in 2018 from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She is passionate about providing high quality education to all students and helping our corps members in Hamilton County to provide productive, engaging, and student-centered learning.

Provides instructional development with a focus on instructional techniques and equitable learning enviroments through observation, coaching, and small-group sessions.
