Dr. Troy Yarbrough
Manager, Teacher Leadership Development
As a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development, Troy coaches, develops the instructional leadership, and provides support to our teachers in Nashville. This includes coaching corps members toward expanding perspectives, facilitating small group sessions, and designing learning experiences to advance the academic and person growth of their students. Troy partners with schools, communities, students, and families as well as the broader regional team to build a culture that celebrates unique contributions and unites people around shared values and common purpose.
Originally from Mississippi, Troy relocated to Tennessee since 2014 and has worked in education for 9 years, serving in various roles such as elementary special education teacher, middle school science teacher, grade level leader and leader of student support services. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and earned his Master's and Doctorate degree from Lipscomb University.
Troy is a husband, brother, and father, and his hobbies include gaming, fishing, watching sports/anime, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He joined the Teach For America staff in 2021 and is excited for opportunity to develop great teachers and future leaders to better serve our most deserving students.
