Hayle Austin
Manager, Teacher Leadership Development
2015
Charlotte-Piedmont Triad
As a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development, Hayle coaches, develops the instructional leadership, and provides support to our teachers in Nashville. This includes coaching corps members toward expanding perspectives, facilitating small group sessions, and designing learning experiences to advance the academic and person growth of their students. Hayle partners with schools, communities, students, and families as well as the broader regional team to build a culture that celebrates unique contributions and unites people around shared values and common purpose.
Hayle is from Burnsville, North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels!) where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Linguistics and Global Studies. She joined Teach For America as a corps member in 2015 and taught Spanish at Eatern Guilford High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Hayle relocated to Tennessee in 2018 to pursue her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College.
She has worked in the higher education setting at different institutions around Nashville, but returned to K-12 to serve as a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development with Teach For America Nashville-Chattanooga in 2020 to enhance postsecondary access and success for students in the area.
