Rachel Tompkins
Senior Managing Director, External Affairs
As Senior Managing Director, External Affairs, Rachel leads the development of strategy to catalyze alumni leadership, learning and impact as well as our strategies to foster inquiry and share insights about creating systems change.
An AmeriCorps alum and graduate of Vanderbilt University, Rachel began her career in social services with the Tennessee Department of Human Services and continued onto Aegis Sciences Corporation, where she worked with human resources.
Driven by a commitment to equitable education, Rachel joined the staff of Teach For America Nashville in 2014 and worked with the external affairs team until 2018, when she dove into the work of meeting, supporting, and connecting with our alumni network of nearly 1,000 in Nashville and Chattanooga.
